About This Talisman
This talisman calls on the thunder of the East — the roaring energy that wakes the earth each spring. In Daoist tradition, the East is the direction of Wood: growing, rising, breaking through. Its power supports new projects, fresh starts, and anything that needs a strong push forward. The Spring Thunder Talisman is drawn from the Daoist classic Collected Methods of the Dao (道法會元), where it is consecrated to General Qu Heng — a fierce guardian who clears obstacles so new life can take root.
Your Guardian
General Qu Heng (瞿亨大將軍) watches over this talisman. In ancient Daoist texts, he is described as a figure with the head of a serpent and a human body, wearing golden-yellow robes and carrying twin axes. His serpent nature represents wisdom that moves close to the earth, and his axes cut through whatever stands in the way of new growth.
How to Use
1 When your talisman arrives, hold it gently and set a quiet intention for what you want to grow this spring.
2 For your home: hang it on an east-facing wall and leave it there for the entire season.
3 On the go: fold the talisman into the included silk pouch and carry it in your bag, pocket, or place it by your bedside.
4 When summer arrives and a new talisman takes its place, burn the old one cleanly. Scatter the ashes into flowing water or clean earth — this returns the blessing to nature.
Seasonal Wellness
Spring is the season of the liver in traditional Chinese wellness. Nourish it with green foods — leafy greens, fresh herbs, sprouts. Try to sleep early and rise early to match the lengthening daylight. Even short walks in nature help your body align with the season's rising energy.
